A weekly update

Hello to everyone! This week's update is another week full of tales with our Little Princess Jasmine leading the cast. But first, a plug for hubby's picture.

I'd just like to ask everyone to register and vote for my husband's picture. So far he has only 3 votes, and is getting a little discouraged. Generally, those pictures with the most votes are using their blogs to drive voting. There are some really good pics there, and he knows it, too. Now, back to our tale.

On Monday, we had Ruby with us. We just spent our time chatting and talking about our daily life and playing with Jasmine. We had our lunch together and watched some movies before Ruby had to leave. Jasmine and I spent the rest of our Monday watching some videos and playing at home.

Tuesday, I spent my time chatting with my Mom and Sister in the PI. We chatted for about an hour. They kept asking about Jasmine; how is she doing, how big is she, the usual. Of course they want to know when we are going to visit them and when are they going to see their one and only apo mistizang apo. I just told them I’m not sure when, hopefully soon when the budget and time permit.

After my mom and sis finished with me, I was chatting with Daff when Jasmine awoke to truly wreak havoc. So, we chatted on and Jasmine climbed onto me. She was having fun with Daff, making silly faces. She even called Daff “Tita come here let’s play.” It’s so amazing how she liked to Imitate Daff with her different facial expressions. Jasmine laughed and giggled up a storm with Daff. I was so entertained between them that I forgot to take pictures while they were having fun. Next time, I should take pictures while they are having fun on the web cam.

Wednesday, our good friend Maria visited us and brought some stuff that I’ve been missing. The usual Pinay stuff; stink fish, stink sauce, and stink fruit. At least that’s what hubby says. He’s just joking to a point and enjoys seeing me get thrilled over a little taste of home. We had a fiesta that day. Ruby brought some strawberry cake and I cooked some mongo with shrimp in it. We cooked some dried fish too, mmm, yummy. Of course, our dessert consisted of Ruby’s cake and ripe mangos. It was like Bacchanalia for my mouth, the flavors, textures, and spices. I cooked shrimp for my hubby and for Jasmine, I made some chicken nuggets. She is one fussy little girl of mine. After we had our dinner, we decided to watch a Tagalog movie and take our time to chill out and relax. We had some tea and coffee afterwards. It was a very good Wednesday. I want to say thank you to Maria for bringing us this little piece of home, these Saturnalian delights, the food of our homeland. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Friday I had to wake up early to do some stuff around the house and run some errands. I also had to wash our comforter and bedding in a big washing machine at the local laundry mat. After that, I decided to wash my car too. When I got home, Jasmine had woken up and actually been extremely nice to daddy. We had lunch and daddy went back to sleep since he’s working nights. Jasmine and I went out in the afternoon to buy some milk and do a little grocery shopping. We got home and baked a pizza for our quick dinner that day.

The big event came on Saturday. Jasmine was a very excited little one. I told her we are going to meet Curious George later. She didn’t want to wait and kept running around like she was on meth. We left the house after taking care of everything and getting ready. Curios George was there and waiting for all the kids to have some fun. She was so amazing, I think she is the only one who didn’t cry when seeing George in his costume, but it’s funny the way she looked at George. It was like she was asking “why is he so big?” Anyway, she kept following George everywhere he went. I let her join the coloring contest, and she did some coloring, after which she went looking for Curious George so she could give him her coloring. She was shy at first, but after a while she seemed comfortable talked quite a bit to Curious George about his adventures and hers, too, I’m sure. I had a hard time convincing here to leave. We went to a local library to borrow some DVD for Jasmine to watch. And went home after that. On the way home she realized we were not going back to see more of George. (I think he’s her personal hero and mentor.) Of course I was caught in the act of trying to trick her, something I should know better than attempting. I told her that Curious George was already home for a nap She was saddened by the news, but accepted it quite well. I told her we would go somewhere next week just as fun. That lifted her spirits.
